This week, strangely but not so strangely for a translator, I experienced the funny sensation of seeing clients returning from the past (all at the same time, of course!); agencies whose projects had been suddenly stopped months ago because of some sudden change inside their client’s plant, or because there are some fields which periodically (such as gaming, for example), have to stop and change thing and re-think themselves because of new legal issues, arrangements etc.

It’s nice anyway that even after years, when the collaboration has been successful and satisfying, the agency comes back. Not just for sympathy: I guess this is much simplier than starting a brand new research for new – no matter how cheaper – and unknown translator. What it’s more tricky is that they come back after years and of course, they do expect your rates have remained the same. Which sometimes, anyway, it’s true.
